The All-In-One Solution for Painters

When it comes to completing projects, most of the problems painters encounter don’t have much at all to do with their skill or expertise, but rather their efficiency. Once you know the scope of the project, the materials required to complete it, and the methods you must implement to do so effectively, the rest is just a matter of organizing and time management. Paint Station Combo

Most painters and contractors have a number of projects happening at one time. If you own a company, or over see a team of workers, you often need to jump from job site to job site, ensuring everything is being done correctly and efficiently.

Understanding this, we have created the All-In-One Solution for painters– to make their lives better, and their painting projects easier!

The Paint Station is a work station that allows painters to keep all of the materials they use for any given project in one place. Without having to worry about losing certain tools as you work, making an unnecessary mess while painting, or wasting time continuously packing up and unloading all your equipment from different places, you will be able to finish more jobs in faster times– which translates to working smarter, not harder!

The Paint Station includes:

a paint tray, designated holders for all your brushes and tools, and even an unique Can Holster that features a drip well for any gallon of paint and magnetic strips for razors and other pieces of equipment! The best part is that this station has a Drop It and Lock It feature that allows you to snap it right onto any ladder for convenience and ease while working!

Kitchen Projects: Paint Your Appetite

So we’ve discussed numerous times how paint color is tied to theme when remodeling a room—specifically how you want to choose a color that accentuates your theme. There’s an entire logic surrounding color that even dictates the best paint colors for certain rooms/paint projects.

Here are some great colors to use in your kitchen, as suggested by HGTV:

  • Red: Warm colors are meant to stimulate the appetite. Red is a highly versatile color and any shade would work well with almost any theme you set for your kitchen.
  • Blue: Lighter shades of blue are recommended specifically as an accent color for cabinets, walls, and ceilings. If you decide to go with a darker shade of blue, use it sparingly throughout the kitchen and balance it with a neutral accent like gray or white.
  • Green: Green is one of the most ideal color schemes for a kitchen, with its various shades resembling anything from warm basil to a crisp apple green. Green typically serves as a great pair to white and wood accents. On the other hand, bold, darker shades add a sense of vibrancy to fuel your appetite!

Easy Tips & Important Tricks for DIY Painting

Can HolsterIf you have been thinking about starting a new paint project—whether it be for one room in your home or the entire house—and you aren’t going to hire a professional painting company, there are a few tips and tricks you should be aware of ahead of time. While tackling a DIY project is totally fine, and actually pretty admirable, it never hurts to do your research ahead of time to read-up on some techniques and methods that might benefit you, ones you hadn’t even considered! This will help prevent your fun family project from turning into a frustrating and overwhelming disaster!

Easy Tips & Tricks for DIY Painting Projects

  1. When you paint a room a new color, write the name of the paint and the color on the back of a light switch in the room. (No one ever thinks to unscrew those pallets off—but it’s so easy!). This way if you ever need a new can of that paint for whatever reason, or need to refer to the name of it, you will know which color name belongs to which room.
  2. Buy dollar store shower liners. Don’t waste old towels and sheets, or rely on flimsy newspapers to keep the floors in your home protected while you begin your painting project. By stocking up on a bunch of shower curtain liners from the dollar store you will be investing in a lot more durable means of protection without having to spend a lot of money. It’s a win-win!
  3. Use our can holster for your paint brush. That way when you take a break or have to put it down for a second, you can set against the can without having to worry about it sinking in.
  4. Get some stirrer-swatches. This is especially applicable if you have multiple paint colors in your home that are in the same family of colors. If you ever need to touch up a certain area, you don’t want to play a guessing game for which can is the correct color. Paint has a tendency to look different dry than it does when it’s wet. So instead of taking the risk of using the wrong color, use paint swatch stirrers to dip them in the different colors, let them dry, then see which one is the exact match for the color you’re looking for!
  5. Store all the left-over paint in containers. If you are someone who gets a little neurotic (in a good way!) about the organization of your home, and don’t want unsightly metal cans stacked around—especially ones splattered with paint all over them—consider saving the leftover paint, assuming it is even an amount worth saving—in air-tight plastic containers. You may even consider (we highly recommend that you do) putting labels on the front with the name of the color and a sample of it painted on a white background. This will of course help with future references and re-touches!
  6. Use tape—for just about everything. When it comes to DIY painting projects in your home, painter’s tape is going to be your best friend! Most people know to use it along cielings and the baseboards to prevent paint from dripping and messy looking lines, but what many people don’t even consider doing is wrapping paint along the insides of furniture, such as cabinets and drawers, do you can get the most full-coverage while painting without worrying about running the inside of it from drips and smears!
  7. Make an all-natural paint brush cleaner. To be honest, one of the worst parts about painting is having to deal with the paint brushes afterwards. The second you let them get too dry without cleaning them, they are ruined forever. On top of having to worry about cleaning them in time, you shouldn’t have to worry about how dangerous or toxic the stuff you DO clean them with are for you! That’s why it’ll be helpful to use hot water and vinegar to clean your brushes—an all natural cleaning solution for getting the paint of your brushes that won’t take you a ton of time to do and won’t hurt your health.
  8. Use Zero VOC paint. Speaking of not hurting your health—make sure that you are buying paints with low or zero VOC so you don’t feel sick after inhaling toxic chemicals for days on end!

2015 Color Trends

Each year commences a new wave of design and fashion trends that are sweeping the globe! There’s even unique color trends to follow for the year. Every aspect of interior design is finely sculpted in the details! Remember, designing a room has the potential to create impressions, so it’s crucial to connect every detail to the overall theme.

Top designers around the world have predicted a variety of color trends that would uniquely shape 2015. Sara Story colors the year with a “Greek Blue”, which resembles “the blue of the Mediterranean sea and the tops of the churches in Santorini.” Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham predict that a sour green would mix nicely with any color, giving a “fresh, bold look.” Pastel palettes echoing the 1980s theme of “optimistic color combinations of orange and purple sunsets, green palm trees, aqua pools, and pink flamingos,” was also projected as a trend. Other suggestions included a neutral gray, olive green, and even a Renaissance-inspired theme. [Source: www.housebeautiful.com]
